There is simple self-catering accommodation at Efti Enterprise if you choose to visit us on site in Laikipia. Please ask for details.

Assessments

Exam Access Arrangements ages 7 years and over.  (also available for online delivery) 
This involves about two hours with the student and includes a summary evaluation of cognitive potential, then assesses reading, writing and processing speed, working memory, spelling and comprehension. It is specifically for applying for exam access arrangements such as extra time, a reader and/or scribe in exams. This assessment has been accepted by a wide range of exam boards such as Cambridge, ISEB, JCQ, IBO and Collegeboard. There is minimal diagnostic feedback from this assessment but it is relevant when the learning difficulties are known.  The focus is on maintaining current documentation and evidence of need for the exam board. The final report is about 10 pages. Fee: $350


An evaluation for Dyslexia or Dyscalculia 5 - 18 years. (Please specify which focus). This involves about two hours with the student to assess the presence of a specific learning difficulty in either mathematics or literacy.  While this is not a comprehensive evaluation, it will confirm the presence of Dyslexia or Dsycalculia and provide evidence for exam access.
Fee $670 includes
  • Individual student assessment carried out over one session of about two an a half hours 
  • 16 page report providing internationally recognised documentary evidence of  Dyslexia or Dyscalculia if it is present
  • 1 Parent and  1 teacher feedback meeting​

An Early Years Diagnostic Assessment for 3 – 5 years (EYDA).  This involves about four hours with the student. It will  evaluate current cognitive and academic potential, expressive and receptive language, core processing skills and sensory integration.   
Fee $780 includes
  • Individual student assessment carried out over two sessions with mini breaks
  • Student observation in class
  • 24 page report providing internationally recognised documentary evidence of  your child's learning profile
  • 1 Parent and 1 teacher feedback meeting

Comprehensive Educational Diagnostic Assessment (CEDA) Age 6 – 18 years .  This involves about five hours with the student. It will evaluate your child’s cognitive and achievement potential, expressive and receptive language, processing system as well as a review of the integration of these systems and, where necessary, the maturity and stability of their sensory system.
Fee $850 includes
  • Individual student assessment carried out over two or more sessions of about two and a half hours each
  • A 30+ page comprehensive report providing internationally recognised documentary evidence of  your child's learning needs
  • Documentary evidence for exam access and diagnosis where eligible
  • 1 Parent and 1 teacher feedback meeting
 
Comprehensive Educational Diagnostic Assessment (CEDA+) Age 19 + years.
This involves about four hours with the student. It will screen their cognitive potential and  fully evaluate expressive and receptive language, academic achievement, processing, and integration of these systems.
Fee $850 includes
  • Individual assessment carried out over two or more sessions of about two and a half hours each
  • A 30+ page comprehensive report providing internationally recognised documentary evidence of  your learning needs
  • Documentary evidence for exam access and diagnosis where eligible
  • 1  feedback meeting

Online diagnostic assessment (ODA).  This assessment is relevant in the current situation of school closures due to Covid 19. However, it may also be relevant once schools reopen for students in isolated situations or when there are not enough students to cover a trip to the school.  Fee:  $720 includes
  • Individual assessment carried out over two or more sessions of about two and a half hours each
  • A 28 page comprehensive report providing internationally recognised documentary evidence of  student learning needs
  • Documentary evidence for exam access and diagnosis where eligible
  • 1  parent and 1 teacher feedback meeting

Assessment of Attention Deficit Disorder in Adults. This assessment is for adults and involves about 2 hours either in person or online. It will establish a baseline of ability, briefly screen for working memory and processing speed to confirm what other challenges may imply an attention deficit. finally  information is gathered from the adult and a significant other person regarding emotional, behavioural and executive functioning to establish possible attention deficit.
Fee $350 includes
  • Individual online or inperson assessment of about two hours
  • A 10 page report providing evidence of attention deficit where relevant

Assessment of dyslexia in Adults. This assessment is for adults and involves about two hours in person. It will establish a baseline of ability, evaluate phonological processing, working memory and processing speed and establish evidence of dyslexia where present. Fee $650 includes
  • individual assessment of about two and a half hours
  • A 16 page report with evidence of dyslexia where relevant
  • A feedback meeting

Behavioural Assessment (BA). Available as a supplement.  This will evaluate behavioural, emotional and executive functioning. This supplement is necessary where concerns are raised regarding issues such as attention and social integration. This involves information from the parents, school and, where appropriate, the student. Where possible, the student will also be observed in class.   Fee: EAA+BA is $700, EYDA + BA is $1130, CEDA + BA is $1200, ODA + BA is $1070

A Developmental History Form  and a Teacher Feed Back Form will need to be completed on line  for all the assessments except the Exam Access Assessment  ahead of the first assessment session.

Online Tutoring 
 Limited space available so please contact Scilla if you are interested in arranging some one-on-one  or small group sessions with your child.

Professional development workshops 
Workshops can be tailored to the school's needs. Options may include topics such as:
  • Differentiation
  • Learning disabilities and what they look like in the classroom
  • The memory system
  • ​Study skills and note taking
  • ​Exam access arrangements
  • Emotional regulation and fundamental competancies
  • Building resilience in students
 Fees: Workshop​s are $200 for 90 minutes or $ 600 for a day 

​Parent  or student  workshops
Designed to increase awareness and understanding of learning difficulties. Options may include topics such as
  • How to help with homework
  • Study skills and note taking
  • Help with learning to read and spell
  • Exam technique and revision skills
  • Understanding your child's learning

Family or Student residential workshops 
  • in collaboration with Hisani Therapy Centre (www.hisanitherapy.com). These workshops will be booked through the Hisani Centre website and the age groups of children will be 5 - 10years , 10 - 14yrs, and 14 plus years. 
  • at Piloki Farm in Laikipia where farming and exploring opportunities are blended with assessments, training or tutoring. request a quote and booking through the contact me button above  
  • in collaboration with Ekorian's Mugie Camp Ekorian's Mugie Camp family workshops of up to 4 families with a focus on social, emotional and cognitive development​

Fees are current as of September 1, 2021.  A 50% deposit is payable to confirm the appointment. The balance will be due before the report is released. All reports are delivered within six weeks of the assessment sessions.
